Your focus is nobody's business
The short version: your sessions live on your device, we don't run ads, and we can't sell what we never collect.
Last updated: 25 July 2026
What stays on your device
Your focus sessions, streaks, XP, coins, island layout, and field guide progress are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. If you enable iCloud backup, Apple syncs that data between your own devices under your Apple account — we never see it.
What we collect
- Crash reports and basic diagnostics, through Apple's built-in reporting, only if you've opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your device settings.
- Anonymous usage events (for example, "a session was completed"), used only to understand which features matter. These carry no account, name, or advertising identifier.
- Your email, if you write to us or join the mailing list — see below.
The mailing list
If you sign up for updates on our website, we store your email address and the date you consented, and nothing else. We use it to send occasional notes about new features, new friends, and what we're building — roughly monthly, never daily.
- We ask you to tick a box first. We never add anyone who didn't.
- You'll get a confirmation email before anything else arrives, so a mistyped address can't sign someone else up.
- Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Using it removes you immediately and permanently.
- We never sell, rent, or share the list, and we don't use it for advertising.
- The list is held by our email provider purely to deliver these messages on our behalf.
Signing up is entirely optional, and the app works exactly the same whether you do or not. To be removed at any time, use the unsubscribe link or write to privacy@nomoinc.co.
What we never collect
- What you were doing while you focused. NoMo has no idea and doesn't want one.
- Your location, contacts, photos, or microphone.
- Advertising identifiers. NoMo contains no ads and no third-party ad SDKs.
App blocking
If you turn on app blocking (a Premium feature), NoMo uses Apple's Screen Time API to hold the apps you choose shut during a session. Apple designed this API so that your app choices and usage stay inside the operating system — NoMo receives no list of your apps and no record of what was blocked. Turning the feature off releases everything immediately.
Purchases
All payments run through the App Store. Apple processes your payment details; we receive only an anonymous receipt confirming the purchase so we can unlock Premium. See Apple's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
Children
NoMo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The app works fully without any account, which means there's nothing to hand over in the first place.
Your rights
Because your data lives on your device, deleting the app deletes it. For anything we do hold (support emails, for instance), write to privacy@nomoinc.co and we'll delete it, show it to you, or correct it — whichever you ask. If you're in the EU or UK, these are your GDPR rights; elsewhere, we honor them anyway.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app's release notes — not bury it. The date at the top always tells you when it last moved.
